Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. Playback uses your browser's own media decoder and the clip is re-recorded from the playing element with MediaRecorder — both happen inside this tab. There is no server behind the page.

Why does exporting take as long as the clip itself?

The clip is captured in real time as it plays: a 30-second clip takes about 30 seconds. That's the trade-off for a zero-upload, zero-install tool. The paid download trims byte-level, instantly, in batches.

What format is the exported clip?

WebM (VP8/VP9 + Opus) — plays in every modern browser and converts cleanly elsewhere. The source video can be MP4, WebM, MOV or anything your browser can play.

Can I trim audio files too?
