The video is captured by your browser, held only in this page's memory, and saved wherever you choose via the download button. No upload, no analytics, no network requests after load. WebM (VP8/VP9 + Opus) is produced by the browser's own encoder; some Safari versions do not support getDisplayMedia recording — you'll see a clear message if so.

Does my recording get uploaded anywhere?

No. Capture (getDisplayMedia) and encoding (MediaRecorder) are built into your browser and run entirely on this page. There is no server behind the tool — the recording lives in the tab's memory until you download it to your own disk.

What can I record?
