Questions people ask

Does my document get uploaded anywhere?

No. This is one web page with pdf-lib bundled inside it and its own zip reader/writer for Office files — there is no server behind it. Load it, disconnect from the internet, and it still works; or open your browser's network inspector and watch it make zero requests.

Which metadata can I see and clear?

For PDFs: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, creation/modification dates, plus any embedded XMP metadata block. For Word/Excel/PowerPoint (.docx/.xlsx/.pptx): author, last-modified-by, title, comments, category, company, manager, and application version.

Will the document's content change?

No — text, formatting, pages, cell values and slides are untouched. Only the property fields you clear are removed. You see a before → after table of exactly what changed before you download.

Can I clear fields one at a time?

Yes — edit or clear any field individually, or clear everything at once. Clearing a field removes it from the file entirely (matching what Word's own 'Remove Personal Information' does), not just emptied.

Which formats are supported?

PDF and the modern Open XML formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx). Older binary Office formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt) aren't supported, and password-protected/encrypted files are flagged rather than decrypted.
