Scrub hidden metadata from a PDF or Word document — without uploading it

Drop in a PDF, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file to see and clear the hidden author name, company, software version, and edit history stored inside it — before you send it to someone else. Everything happens on this page; your document is never uploaded anywhere.

How it works: drop a file below, review the metadata found, clear what you don't want (or hit Clear All), then download the cleaned copy. The file's actual content — text, formatting, pages — is untouched.

How to use this tool
  1. Use the dropzone below — that's the whole tool. (The downloaded version is the same tool as a file you double-click, no install or internet needed.)
  2. Drop in a PDF, .docx, .xlsx, or .pptx file, or click the dropzone to browse for one.
  3. Review the metadata found, shown field by field with its current value.
  4. Edit any field, click Clear on individual ones, or click Clear all fields to blank everything at once.
  5. Click Scrub & download to get the cleaned copy, and check the before → after table to confirm exactly what changed.
