Questions people ask

Does my photo get uploaded anywhere?

No. The entire tool is one web page with no server behind it and no network calls. You can open it, disconnect from the internet, and it still works — or read the page's source yourself to confirm nothing sends data anywhere.

What metadata exactly gets removed?

The EXIF/APP1 segment (GPS coordinates, camera make and model, lens data, capture timestamp), Photoshop's IPTC block (APP13), and any comment markers (COM) if present. You see a list of exactly what was found and removed.

Will the image quality change?

No. The image pixels are copied byte-for-byte; only the metadata segments are removed. There is no re-encoding and therefore no quality loss.

What's the difference between this free page and the paid download?

Which file formats does it work with?

JPEG photos (.jpg / .jpeg) — that's the format whose metadata can be stripped cleanly without touching the pixels. PNG, HEIC and WebP store metadata differently. (HEIC files converted with our HEIC to JPG converter already come out metadata-free.)
